Propaganda Poster

My topic for this project was scientology I’ve been watching a lot of videos about it and what the people who believe and follow it believe in and how the whole scientology thing works and researching it. They classify themselves as a religion but make you sign a contract that makes you give them all this money. They, in a way trick you and make you believe in all this weird spiritual stuff, and they think that their spirits were overpopulating another galaxy somewhere and god brought them to this planet to free their spirit and they get you to believe. “The core belief holds that a human is an immortal, spiritual being that is residing in a physical body. The thetan has had innumerable past lives, some of which, preceding the thetan's arrival on Earth, were lived in extraterrestrial cultures. Scientology doctrine states that any Scientologist undergoing auditing will eventually come across and recount a common series of past-life events. Scientology describes itself as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others, and all of life”(Wikipedia).
I am someone who is easily tricked by nice words and this would probably would’ve fooled me if I never heard of scientology. I didn’t want to see or watch more videos other people being victims of scientology and the stories I’ve seen of a girls dad following scientology and abandoning her for this religion was super sad to see and the amount of abuse that seems to happen in the religion makes me sad to hear. So my targeted audience was and hopefully is people who would be heavily influenced by things that are “too good to be true”, too nice to say no to things, or they are always feeling sorry for others. My goal was to hopefully also spread the message about how scientology can trick you into giving them your money and gaslighting you into taking you away from your family, (if you have any) your children, parents, close friends, siblings, and generally anyone you have close relations with.
